Tongits is one of those games every Filipino grew up playing — at the neighbourhood sari-sari store, during family reunions, or on lazy Sunday afternoons. Now, Mr Jili brings that same energy online so you can enjoy it anytime, anywhere, with real players and real PHP prizes.
About Tongits at Mr Jili
Ask any Filipino what card game they think of first and there's a very good chance the answer is Tongits. It's been a staple of Philippine social life for decades — a game of both luck and skill that rewards sharp thinking and card reading ability. The beauty of it is that whether you're a casual player or a seasoned veteran, every hand feels fresh.
At Mr Jili, we built our Tongits platform the right way. We didn't just slap a standard card game engine onto a generic interface. We studied how Pinoys actually play — the pacing, the tension when someone's about to declare, the rush of landing a perfect meld — and we designed the experience around that. The result is an online Tongits game that feels authentic from the first draw to the final showdown.
What makes Mr Jili's Tongits section stand out is the combination of a clean, responsive interface and a consistently large player pool. You'll almost never have to wait for a table. Day or night, there are hundreds of active rooms across different stake levels — from casual low-bet tables for beginners to high-stakes rooms for players who want serious competition.
And when you win, you get paid fast. Withdrawals to GCash or Maya usually process within minutes. Mr Jili doesn't hold your winnings hostage with unnecessary delays or complicated verification loops. Just play, win, and cash out — simple as that.

Rules & Gameplay
Even if you've been playing Tongits since childhood, it helps to review the basics when moving to an online format. Here's how a round works at Mr Jili:
The game is played by 3 players using a standard 52-card deck. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players receive 12 cards each. One card is placed face-up to start the discard pile.
On your turn, draw a card from the stock pile or the discard pile, then discard one card. Your goal is to form valid melds and reduce the total points in your unmatched cards.
A meld is either a set (three or more cards of the same rank) or a sequence (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit). You can lay melds on the table during your turn.
If you empty your hand completely, call "Tongits" and win immediately. If the stock pile runs out, a fight is called — the player with the lowest unmatched card points wins.
You can extend your melds onto an opponent's meld (sapaw). Players can also challenge a fight call if they believe they have fewer points — so stay sharp until the last card!
Card Point Values
| Card | Point Value | Meld Use |
|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 point | Low or high in sequences |
| 2 – 9 | Face value | Sets & sequences |
| 10 | 10 points | Sets & sequences |
| Jack (J) | 10 points | Sets & sequences |
| Queen (Q) | 10 points | Sets & sequences |
| King (K) | 10 points | Sets & sequences |

Strategy Tips
Tongits isn't purely about the cards you're dealt — it's about reading your opponents and making smart decisions under pressure. Here are some tips that experienced players at Mr Jili consistently follow:
Every card an opponent discards tells you something. If they throw a high-value card early, they're likely building low. Use that information to decide what to hold and what to release.
Getting melds on the table reduces your exposed point count even if you don't call Tongits. This protects you if someone else calls a fight before you're ready.
A high card with no meld potential is just dead weight. Discard it early rather than carry dead points into a fight situation.
Set a session budget before you sit down. Mr Jili's account settings let you apply deposit limits so you never go beyond what you're comfortable with.
